Mustang trekking is popular trekking destination in Nepal. Mustang trek take to you the Last forbidden kingdom of Nepal. Mustang trekking is known as Upper mustang trekking which include Mustang Lo Manthang. Upper Mustang trek take you into the hidden world of the old Buddhist kingdom of Mustang. Trekking in Mustang region take to you heart of the Annaurna region trekking. Mustang trekking open 1992 for trekkers and only limited number trekkers can do trekking in Mustang. Nepal government include Mustang trekking is in restricted trekking trail and special Manaslu trekking permit required for Trekking in Manaslu region through government registered Nepal trekking agency. Minimum two person required trekking in Mustang region. Mustang trek offer beautiful Himalayan views including Mount Dhaulagiri 8167m, Mount Annapurna 8091m and other 14 snowy capped mountains of Annapurna region as well as beautiful landscape compare to Tibet , primitive Tibetan style houses , Tibetan monasteries and Mustang palace.
Mustang trekking begins at Kagbeni after 4-5 hours walk from Jomsom. Himalaya Journey Trekking arrange two different options mustang trekking either Pokhara fly to Jomsom or trekking commence from Nayapul through Annapurna Ghorepani poon hill to Jomsom as per travelers wish and holiday frame. Himalaya Journey Trekking guide led you through beautiful valley of Kagbeni Chele Geling Tsarang and finally reach at Lo Manthang where you trekkers will spend one extra day for excursion Mustang Lo Manthang , visit mustangi king or excursion around Mustang . Trail continue follow through Ghami samar Kagbeni and finally reach at Jomsom then by overland or by flight back to Pokhara. Pokhara by flight or by tourist bus back to Kathmandu or trekkers may extend journey to chitwan National park for Chitwan Jungle safari tour . March , April , May , September, October & November are best time trekking in Mustang region but we Himalaya Journey Trekking arrange around the year as per demand . Minimum 2 weeks holidays required for around Mustang trekking . Normally, camping / tented trekking is more appropriate for Mustang trekking but we HJT arrange simple tea house / lodge treks in Mustang area.

Mustang trekking (Fly in Fly Out)Itinerary: Option I

Day 01: Arrival in kathmandu 1334m, Himalaya Journey Treks & Expedition’s representative will transfer to hotel , Mustang trekking briefing with officially arrangements. overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 02: After breakfast, our tour guide will take to you for historical monuments sightseeing around kathmandu valley such as Bhkatapur, pasupatinath, Boudhhanath, kathmandu durbar square & Swaymbhunath(monkey temple) and prepare for the Mustang trekking because this day is required to make Mustang special trekking permit with original passport. Overnight at kathmandu .

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara 915m. by tourist bus or by flight. overnight at Hotel in Pokhara.

Day 04: Pokhra to Jomsom 2720m,by flight and trek to Kagbeni 2810m. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 05: Kagbeni trek to Chele 3050m.Overnight at tented camp

Day 06: Chele trek to Geling 3500m.Overnight at tented camp.

Day 07: Geling trek to Tsarang/Chharang 3620m.Overnight at tented camp.

Day 08: Tsarang/Chharang trek to Lo Manthang 3840m .Overnight at tented camp.

Day 09: Acclimataization or Rest day in Lo-Manthang. During this, you can make sightseeing or excursion tour around Mustang King palace and monasteries.Overnight at tented camp.

Day 10: Lo Manthang trek to Ghami 3545m. via Gekar.Overnight at tented camp.

Day 11: Ghami trek to Samar 3356m . Overnight at tented camp.

Day 12: Samar trek to Kagbeni .Overnight at tented camp.

Day 13: Kagbeni trek to Jomsom.Overnight at tented camp.

Day 14: After breakfast Jomsom to Pokhara by flight than by bus/private vehicle or by flight back to Kathmandu.overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 15: After breakfast, Relaxing or shopping with own activities than in the evening farewell dinner in Nepalese Restaurant, overnight at kathmandu in Hotel .

Day 16: After breakfast, Relaxing/shopping with own activities ,Himalaya Journey Treks & Expedition’s representative will drop to Kathmandu international airport for onward destination.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara 915m. by tourist bus or by flight. overnight at Hotel in Pokhara.

Day 04: After breakfast, Pokhara by private vehicle to Nayapul 956m than trek to Hile/Tikhedhunga 1555m. Overnight at Hile/Tikhedhunga.

Day 05: Hile/Tikhedhunga trek to Ghorepani 2855m. Overnight at Ghorepani.

Day 06: Early in the morning HJT trekking guide will take to you Poon Hill 3210m for superb Himalayan scenery including the Dhaulagiri 8167m, Nilgiri 7041m, Fishtail/Machhapuchhare 6998m, Annapurna I 8091m, Annapurna II 7939m , Annapurna III7555m, Annapurna IV 7525m, Annapurna south 7219m, Hiunchuli 6441m, Lamjung Himal 6986m,Tukuche peak 6920m etc , breakfast at ghorepani and continue trek to Tatopani/Natural hot spring 1179m.Overnight at Tatopani.

Day 07: Tatopani trek to Ghasa 2013m. Overnight at Ghasa.

Day 08: Ghasa trek to Marpha 2667m. Overnight at Marpha.

Day 09: Marpha trek to Kagbeni 2810m. Overnight at tented camp.
